Threaded Vessels: Slow Stitching with Reclaimed Textiles with Lou Nade 16th March 10 til 4pm

  • Green Door Studios 1 Rossgoll Road Robertson, NSW, 2577 Australia (map)

Join us as we gather to create a unique slow stitched vessel using reclaimed textile waste. This slow, intentional and mindful workshop will encourage you to be present in the moment, focus simply on the process of making, and inspire you to expand your creativity while exploring materials in new ways.

Guided by award winning artist, weaver and maker Lou, this day of joyful creativity is designed for anyone looking to delve into the freedom and relaxation of slow stitching, from absolute beginners to more experienced makers.  With as little or as much instruction as you prefer, and as the materials combine with your stitching style, Lou will support you through the steps to make a beautiful, organically crafted vessel.

An environmental advocate, materials are sourced from a myriad of places, all of which are reclaimed, repurposed and saved from landfill. Workshop materials include: A wide variety of ready to stitch core strips with the option to create your own during the class, threads of varying colours, needles, embellishments, buttons and other decorative pieces.

Including a delicious lunch, by the end of the day, you’ll leave with a uniquely stitched vessel, reduced your impact on the environment, explored your creativity in new and meditative ways, and shared in the joy of creating something completely individual.  Come along, unwind and discover something new from old.
