Two Day Workshop - Garment Embroidery
Transform the clothes you already love.
Bring your favourite linen shirt, a denim jacket, or a simple cotton dress, and over two days, Kasia will guide you to add beautiful hand embroidery onto your garments.
What you’ll learn:
how to decide where to place your design being mindful of seams, buttons, zippers and garment structure;
how to select thread colours that work with your fabric colour;
how to embellish edges of cuffs, skirts and hems;
which stitches hold up best on garments that will actually be worn and washed;
how to start and finish your threads so they stay secure wash after wash.
Students will choose from a selection of Polish folk-inspired patterns printed onto Stick & Stitch sheets, then learn how to place, stitch, and finish the embroidery so it looks beautiful and lasts through real wear and washing.
What’s included:
All patterns, needles, hoops and a selection of threads in Kasia’s eleven signature colours.
What to bring:
You'll need to bring one to three garments made from natural fibres such as cotton or linen, in a solid colour, pre-washed and colourfast. If you have your own stranded cotton, perle or other threads at home, please bring them so you have more colours and types to choose from.
Who this workshop is for:
This workshop is suited to stitchers with some embroidery experience. Not recommended for absolute beginners.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided too
