Anna is a Melbourne-based textile artist who works from her home studio creating whimsical, nature-inspired pieces under the name Lalou and Boo. Her work blends fabric, embroidery, embellishment and illustration, with a focus on mindful hand-stitching and a deep love of the creative process.
Enjoy a day being surrounded by sumptuous silks, glass beads, vintage brass charms and slow stitching as Anna teaches you to make your own divine embroidered silk bracelet.
You will be guided through the bracelet construction and then Anna will help you to design a beautifully balanced piece which represents your own creative expression, combining embroidery, beading and couching. Even the simplest design elements can create the most beautiful piece of jewellery.
Anna has an exquisite collection of dyed silks, old enamel-painted charms, and other embellishing materials which she will bring along for you to use.
All materials are provided, including:
– lengths of silk and stabiliser
- twisted chord
- embroidery threads, French floss and textured yarns
- seed beads, sequins and Czechoslovakian faceted glass beads
- hand-dyed silk velvets
- a selection of vintage brass charms and other foraged treasures for creating a personal bracelet design
Please bring a sewing kit including fabric scissors, pins and needles if you have one. Some beginner level sewing experience is recommended.
